Maternal Health in Rural Tennessee

According to the CDC, since the Pregnancy Mortality Surveillance System was implemented, the number of reported pregnancy-related deaths in the United States steadily increased from 7.2 deaths per 100,000 live births in 1987 to 17.3 deaths per 100,000 live births in 2017. The U.S Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) analyzed rural areas had a pregnancy-related mortality ratio of 29.4 per 100,000 live births versus 18.2 in urban areas in 2015. We are hosting a webinar with panelists that will address the current state of Maternal Health in rural areas of Tennessee.
